UK snow map: This live weather map shows where it's snowing in Britain using tweets

A live map shows where it is snowing in the UK by cataloguing tweets sent in the midst of a Siberian blast sweeping the country.

The UK snow map takes information from people using the hashtag #uksnow to create an up to the minute record of where flurries are falling.

The creators of the snow map asked people to include the start of their postcode in their tweets to get a specific overview of weather across the nation.

In order to get an accurate reading of the snow coverage in certain areas, people have been asked to rate the amount of snow where they are.
