District line delays: TfL commuters face London rush hour misery after signal failure at Earl's Court

Commuters travelling on the District line are facing severe delays after a signal failure at Earl’s Court.

Service was part suspended between South Kensington and Ealing Broadway/Richmond/Wimbledon and between Earl’s Court and Edgware Road.

It led to severe delays on the rest of the line, and minor delays clockwise on the Circle line.

Transport for London urged people to “avoid the District line where possible”.

In a tweet Tfl wrote: “Service has resumed with severe delays due to a signal failure at Earl’s Court.

“For time being please continue to use alternative routes where possible.”

Tickets will be accepted on London buses, South Western Railway, C2C and Great Western Railway, TfL said.
