Coronation Street stars were out in their best summer dresses, Hawaiian shirts and shorts to celebrate the beach-themed leaving party for soap favourite Catherine Tyldesley in Manchester.
It was certainly the weather for it as guests headed out in their most summer-y ensembles on a sun-soaked night in the city centre on Friday.
Some outfits were glam, and others were downright hilarious as guests got well and truly into the swing of the theme of “Eva’s beach party”.

And for Cath’s good friend and former co-star Shayne Ward that included a blonde surfer dude wig to go with his loud Hawaiian shirts and shorts as he headed along to the party with his fiancee, actress Sophie Austin in a pretty floral summer dress.
Soap fellas including Liam Bairstow and Ryan Clayton wore printed Hawaiian shirts, while young actor Harry Visinoni, donned a yellow floral lei.
Female stars opted for pretty floral printed dresses, including Cath’s soap sisters Georgia Taylor and Jane Danson, Katie McGlynn and pregnant soap favourite Jennie McAlpine.
Corrie’s outgoing producer, Kate Oates, also headed along to the bash in a floral mullet-hemmed dress.
Walkden actress Cath has played unlucky-in-love Eva Price on Corrie for the past seven years, but announced last year she was quitting the soap.
She was not pictured arriving at the bash, but her pal, Hits Radio DJ Mike Toolan, posted a picture of her looking glamorous with loose beachy waves inside the party on Friday night.
Cath had admitted earlier this week to being filled with emotion on her final days of filming, but she was all smiles for her leaving party held at Impossible bar on Peter Street.
She had been planning to have her big leaving do at Mahiki but her pals were informed on Monday that the celeb haunt tiki-themed venue was to close, leading to a last-minute search for a new venue.
Impossible’s owner Aaron Mellor stepped in to save the day by offering up his his city centre venue so the party could continue as planned.
Cath thanked Aaron for his help on Twitter saying: “Big thanks going to @aaronmellor for being a ledge, so excited for the weekend!”
And it appears it was quite a night – for Cath tweeted in the early hours how she was “legless and consuming 5,000 calories in 4 seconds.” Swiftly followed this morning by the familiar feeling of: “Never drinking again ever”.
Mum-of-one Cath was joined by her Corrie work pals and her close friends for the party on Friday night.
And one of her best pals, city socialite Ashleigh Guthrie, was really turning heads in her Mermaid-esque ensemble – of spray-painted shell bikini top and fish-scale shorts.
Other stars went with the Tiki theme, including the show’s Lisa George in a stunning coral dress and floral hairpiece.
Meanwhile soap newcomer Mollie Winnard was really turning heads at the bash – with her uncanny likeness to former Corrie star Michelle Keegan.
Mollie, who plays mysterious Kayla on the soap, wore a tangerine mini-dress as she headed into the bash at Impossible and looked a near mirror image of actress Michelle, who left the soap as Tina McIntyre in dramatic scenes bach in 2014.
Soap fans have discussed the likeness between the two actresses in recent weeks, remarking that Mollie’s character Kayla even sounds like Tina McIntyre on the soap.
Catherine is waving goodbye to the famous street after a dramatic storyline which saw her character take her baby Susie back from Toyah Battersby after the truth emerged that Eva had given her child up.
In devastating scenes Toyah decided to tell her partner Peter Barlow the truth that Susie isn’t their child with a surrogate, she is Eva’s daughter with her former fiance Aidan Connor who took his own life last month.
Cath now wants to travel the world with her husband Tom Pitfield and young son Alfie.
But she previously told the M.E.N. she hopes the door will remain open for her return to the soap at some point in the future.
Talking about leaving Corrie she said: “The timing seemed right. My son Alfie doesn’t start at school for another two years so as a family we wanted the chance to travel.
“I have relatives in Australia, but we didn’t want to go for just a couple of weeks, we’d like to go over there and spend six weeks or more over there and then visit as many countries as possible. Tom and I had always talked about travelling and we are keen for Alfie to visit different cultures.
“In between there will hopefully be some exciting projects for me as well.”
Catherine has been involved in some memorable and gripping storylines on the show and Cath said it was the arrival of outgoing producer Kate Oates that encouraged her to stay longer than she originally planned.
She says she would love to return to the soap in future, saying: “Absolutely, I know people say it and don’t but I really do, I’m a huge Corrie fan, the writers have written so well for Eva, and it would be great for Eva to come back.”
This week Cath told fans she was feeling ‘stable’ until she saw a photo of herself with her co-stars Jane Danson and Georgia Taylor, who play her on-screen sisters Toyah and Leanne Battersby.
The trio have been filming Aidan’s inquest at Rochdale town hall and she Instagrammed the photo and wrote: “I thought I was emotionally stable till I saw this pic of me and my sisters at lunch today. Two of the most talented, funny, kindhearted women I’ve ever met. Love you both so much xxxxx #location.”
Last year on her wedding day Eva, known as ‘Eva the diva’, plunged into a fountain in her big white dress with neighbour and ex best friend Maria Connor after Maria revealed that she had been having an affair with Aidan.
In a massive showdown the two women scrapped in the fountain as guests stared in amazement.
Eva had been faking a pregnancy with Aidan but the barmaid and machinist fell pregnant with his baby for real and she decided to keep it a secret when the Underworld factory boss made clear he wanted nothing more to do with her after she plotted to ruin his business with new man Adam Barlow.
In Aidan’s final moving scenes he went to visit his ex after she gave birth in a secret hideaway and gave her his blessing to hand Susie to Toyah who couldn’t have a child of her own.
They also had the first dance they never had at the wedding that was called off.
