Police are investigating after a woman in her 30s was stabbed to death in Brixton.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.
Cristo Foufas, a Talkradio presenter who lives on Sudbourne Road where the incident took place, shared photos of the street filled with police cars and ambulances, saying there were “loads of officers” on the scene.
A spokesman for the Met Police told the Standard: “Police were called 16.36pm on Sunday, April PM to a residential address in Sudbourne Road, Brixton, following reports of a stabbing.
“Officers attended, along with London’s Air Ambulance.
“A female, believed to be aged in her 30s, was found suffering from stab wounds.
“Despite the efforts of paramedics she was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin are aware. Formal identification awaits.”
It is the 58th murder investigation launched in London this year, following the death of a man at Stratford earlier this week.
